Amy May is a Children’s book Illustrator based in Sheffield, UK.

Amy uses a range of traditional mediums in her work and loves to experiment with textures including oil pastel, coloured pencil and ink.

Her biggest inspirations are Briony May Smith, Anoosha Syed, Julia Donaldson and many more.

Amy is inspired by the breathtaking views of the Yorkshire Dales and loves to incorporate animals and nature in her work. As a disabled, bisexual illustrator, Amy aims to explore themes of isolation, alienation, self love and pride in her work.

Amy’s dream job would be to illustrate an autobiographical children’s non fiction book about Oscar Wilde and Frida Kahlo. She would also love to illustrate a poetry book of marginalised voices such as Maya Angelou.
